The story
Memo Paris was founded in Paris in 2007 by Clara and John Molloy. Clara's Parisian and Catalan poetic sensibility meets John's Irish appetite for travel. Together they treat perfume as a journey, with each composition holding the memory of a place, an encounter or a feeling.
The house works with intense, high-quality raw materials and gives its perfumers broad creative freedom. From African Leather and Madurai to Sintra, the result is an open fragrance map where leather, flowers, woods and spices become distinct destinations.
01 · The beginning

A founding couple drawn to faraway places

Memo Paris began in Paris in 2007 with Clara Molloy and John Molloy. The house describes Clara as a Parisian poet of Catalan origin and John as an Irish globetrotter and sportsman. Their different paths became the creative starting point for Memo Paris: fragrance should not simply smell beautiful, but open a destination and its memory on the skin.

02 · Travel Notes

An emotional map in fragrance

Memo Paris calls its fragrances Travel Notes. The phrase connects the notes of a composition with the thoughts and memories brought home from a journey. On this map, Irish Leather leads to the co-founder's Irish origins, while Marfa and Tiger's Nest evoke very different landscapes. The places are not travel guides, but poetic starting points for scent.

03 · Materials and freedom

Compositions with room for surprise

The house emphasises high-quality natural ingredients and broad creative freedom for its perfumers. This approach is especially visible in Cuirs Nomades, which treats leather not as a fixed formula but as an evolving accord. African Leather, French Leather and Ocean Leather therefore do not tell the same leather story, but three different movements between spice, rose, sea and woods.

Here you have an oriental-inspired fragrance with a wonderful sweetness, noticeably fruity accents, and a beautiful spiciness.

I find the fragrance truly beautiful. This rose is simply very well-executed for my taste! Not too sweet, not too heavy, but very floral and somehow fresh! The leather is only very subtle in the background, but that is exactly what makes it exciting for me. It gives the rose a bit of depth without overshadowing it or making the scent too heavy. I love wearing it; the fragrance has something special for me. It's a shame that it is no longer available at Parfinity.
