The story
Maison Noir was founded in Zurich in 2021 by Claudio Denz and David Weber. The house connects Swiss design and creative direction with the compositional craft of French perfumery. Its fragrances are composed in France and designed in Switzerland.
01 · Origin and leadership

A fragrance house of their own in Zurich

Claudio Denz brings almost two decades of fragrance experience, including developing and launching scents for Lalique, Jaguar, Bentley, and Brioni within the Lalique Group family business. David Weber came from Swiss finance and returned to Zurich after completing an MBA in Sydney. Their long friendship became the foundation for Maison Noir as an independent project.

02 · Visual language of scent

Through the right door

Maison Noir imagines fragrances as rooms in a fictional townhouse. Images, door colours, and personas give each creation its own atmosphere. The three digits in each name complete the story: the Maison Noir Fragrance Wheel maps three dominant scent directions and makes a composition's character legible before it is smelled. This gives niche fragrance a more intuitive and sensory entry point, including online.

03 · Composition and origin

French perfumery, Swiss direction

The house describes its work as a meeting of French perfumery and contemporary Swiss design. Maison Noir deliberately works with several perfumers and major fragrance houses. Alexandra Monet, Jérôme Epinette, Michel Almairac, and Guillaume Flavigny represent this collaborative approach across the Maison Noir fragrances carried by Parfinity.
