The story of Attar Collection begins in 2015 in Dubai - a city that embodies the fusion of East and West like no other. Co-owner Mario Matta and his team founded the house with a clear vision: to translate the centuries-old tradition of Arabian attars into a form that appeals to Western fragrance lovers.

The word "attar" derives from the Persian "itr" - perfume, aroma. Traditional attars are concentrated perfume oils extracted through steam distillation of rose petals, woods, and spices. This technique, refined in medieval Persia, forms the foundation of Arabian fragrance culture. Attar Collection takes this heritage seriously and combines it with gourmand notes, modern accords, and the expertise of world-class perfumers.
The MBA Manufacturing Perfumes LLC factory in Dubai's New Industrial Zone handles the entire production cycle - from growing raw materials to final packaging. Around 40,000 bottles leave the facility each month. Each one is conceived as a collector's piece, with traditional Arabian motifs that evoke the splendor of the Arabian Nights.
What sets Attar Collection apart from many oriental brands: the fragrances are not only crafted with expensive natural oils, but in collaboration with some of the world's finest perfumers. Yann Vasnier, Dominique Moellhausen, and Gael Montero - all Givaudan perfumers - are among the creative minds behind the collection.
"My first experience with Attar Collection impressed me very much. Second Skin turned out to be pure spring floral freshness."
- Sergey Borisov, fragrance journalist at Fragrantica
These collaborations guarantee a standard that elevates the brand above the mass of Dubai perfumery. The compositions are deliberate, multi-layered, and deliver on the promise of those opulent bottles.
A common misconception about Arabian fragrances: that they're all heavy, sweet, and room-filling. Attar Collection disproves this with a range that surprises. From the tropical lightness of Al Rayhan to the intimate musk of Musk Kashmir to the creamy sandalwood of Fleur de Santal - the collection caters to very different fragrance preferences.
"Attar Collection appears to have decided to develop towards Western and global perfume trends, with light freshness and weightless trails for daily use in any weather."
- Sergey Borisov, in Fragrantica
What unites all the fragrances is the high concentration of perfume oils, ensuring impressive longevity. Many Attar Collection creations will easily last through the day, continuously evolving on skin.
The collection spans over 40 fragrances. These five showcase the breadth of Attar Collection - from winter gourmand to weightless skin scent.
Arabian fragrance art can feel unfamiliar to Western noses. The richness of the compositions, the unexpected accords, the pronounced sillage - none of that translates well from descriptions alone. At the same time, that very otherness is precisely the appeal.
