Founded in Melbourne, Fort & Manlé is the independent perfume house of self taught perfumer Rasei Fort. Its fragrances pair artisanal oils and extracts with stories that move between empire, memory and distant landscapes.

An independent voice from Melbourne

Fort & Manlé is built around the sensibility of Rasei Fort, whom the house presents as its founder and perfumer. His self taught, meticulous approach brings together artisanal oils and extracts, with compositions that can feel vibrant, opulent and eccentric while remaining carefully balanced.

02 · The idea

Old worlds, new tensions

The house describes its world through a meeting of modern and old world sensibilities. Bojnokopff turns a smoky 1897 St Petersburg scene into a perfume of lavender, vanilla, chocolate and oud. Honiara travels in another direction, drawing on the tropical atmosphere of the Solomon Islands.

03 · Recognition

An independent voice recognised

The house reached the finalist stage of The Art and Olfaction Awards with Fatih Sultan Mehmed in 2017 and Impressions de Giverny in 2018. The awards archive identifies Rasei Fort as perfumer for both recognised works.
